COLLEGE PRIZES
Vivekananda College awards 6(six) Prizes to the Toppers in different
Faculties of the College.
Thus, three prizes each of Rs. 1000/- value and three prizes each of
Rs. 500/- value are awarded to the Toppers in Honours and General
Courses- Arts, Science and Commerce Respectively.
A certificate of Merit is also given to each of the Toppers.
THE TEACHERS' COUNCIL - PRIZES
The Teachers' Council of the College awards prizes to the students
who are Toppers in Honours Courses in different subjects.
DEPARTMENT OF BIOLOGICAL SCIENCE (ZOOLOGY & BOTANY)
A) K.S. Rao Memorial prize is awarded every year to the students of
this College securing highest marks in Zoology(Hons) and Botany(Hons).
B) 'Debashis Kar Memorial Fund' has been donated by Smt. Manashi
Kar in the memory of her late son, Debashis Kar, an ex-student who
passed B.Sc. (Bio-Science) Examination in 2003 from Vivekananda College.
Out of this Fund : a) DEBASHIS KAR MEMORIAL PRIZES will be awarded
to two best students of Bio- Science Stream every year and b) Poor but
meritorious students of Bio-Science Stream shall be also helped monetarily
every year.
DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS
Principal D. Banerjee Memorial Prize is awarded to the best
student in Mathematics of the College every year.
DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY
D.C. Mukherjee Memorial Prize, is awarded to the best student
in Chemistry of the College, by the family of Late Prof. Debesh Chandra
Mukherjee, an ex-teacher of the college.
