The Department of Environmental Science pioneers the field of undergraduate study of the subject running the first ever UG (Hons.) course in Environmental Science under University of Calcutta.
The departmental laboratory is well equipped having a number of scientific instrument of Environmental monitoring including assessment of water, soil and climatological parameters. Seminar lectures have also been arranged to provide the students with better exposure of the subject.Students have undertaken several activities in the college including campus cleaning, tagging the trees as a part of observing important days like Earth day, World Environmental Day etc. Regular weather monitoring and recording is being done by this department, as a part of research and academic activity.
